Author Guest Post With Angela Townsend

Angela Townsend, has kindly agreed to guest post about her inspiration for becoming a writer in honor of her upcoming release, Amarok.

 About The Author:

Angela Townsend was born in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Missoula, Montana. As a child, Angela grew up listening to stories told by her grandparents, ancient tales and legends of faraway places. Influenced by her Irish and Scottish heritage, Angela became an avid research historian, specializing in Celtic mythology. Her gift for storytelling finally led her to a full time career in historical research and writing. A writer in local community circulations, Angela is also a published genealogical and historical resource writer who has taught numerous research seminars. Currently, Angela divides her time between writing, playing Celtic music on her fiddle, and Irish dancing. She resides on a ranch, in rural Northwestern Montana, with her two children Levi and Grant.

What inspired me to be a writer.

I was raised in a highly creative, Irish and Scottish family. As a young child, I grew up listening to stories told by my parents and grandparents, ancient tales and legends of faraway places. From a very early age I enjoyed writing stories with coordinating artwork to share with others. This passion for creating tales became a way to harness my overactive imagination. I always knew that someday I would be a full time writer of fiction novels.  

As an adult, I spent many hours escaping the hardships of life by hiding away in a busy corner of a restaurant or the shelter of a quiet table at my local library, editing or writing or shaping new characters. After landing an agent I began to write full time. 

I cannot imagine doing anything different and I feel blessed to be able to work in a career I’ve always longed for.
