Guest Post:
Hey
everyone! Kendra L. Saunders here… I’m an author, marketing coordinator
(for Spencer Hill Press), interviewer and podcast host, among other
things. Right now, in between cups of English Breakfast tea, working
until my eyeballs fall out and attending sci-fi/fantasy conventions with
my steampunk friends, I’m working on a new book called “Death and Mr.
Right.”
Anything can happen on March 32nd,
right? I mean, it’s the day that doesn’t officially exist! No one knows
this better than Death, the agent of nightmares and lame-tastic days.
Death is a bit of a rock star, if you will, from his blue-tinged hair to
his pointy toed boots, and he quite enjoys concocting bad dreams and
making sure it rains on you at the most inconvenient time. Bad hair
days? Totally his division.
But this particular March 32nd is not like the others. Death
is unfairly demoted and exiled to Boston to live among mortals for the
rest of his unnaturally long life. Everyone knows They don’t look
lightly on important items getting lost or an agent falling in love.
Can Death navigate the modern world, recover what was stolen from him (the names of the damned… ooops!) and get his job back? Or will he fall in love with Lola, the pretty thief who got him into all of this trouble in the first place?
Can Death navigate the modern world, recover what was stolen from him (the names of the damned… ooops!) and get his job back? Or will he fall in love with Lola, the pretty thief who got him into all of this trouble in the first place?
Will he survive the reapers that are sent to execute him? Will he survive living in BOSTON?
“Death
and Mr. Right” is a dark comedy of missed love connections, ghosts,
reapers and bad Boston cafes. It’s been great fun to work on a comedy
again, as black comedy is my favorite genre to read and write.
The book was inspired by some very good friends of mine and began as a
short story. My beta readers expressed interest in seeing it become a
novel and I became rather attached to my blue-haired protagonist and to
his trouble-making love interest Lola Lane, thief extraordinaire.
My
current book, magic realism novel “Inanimate Objects”, is a Kindle Book
Review semi-finalist and has received awesome reviews from all over the
world- and I just found out it’s on its way to Antarctica. How cool is
that?

Inanimate Objects is a dark and glittering novel of artists and magicians, muses and immortals. At the heart of the story is Leonidas Bondi, a charismatic young artist who falls under the watchful gaze of Matilda August. Matilda has been a patron to the stars for hundreds of years, but this fickle muse is more than a little taken with her new protégé, blurring her own lines of work and obsession. Providing opposition is Matilda’s son, Elisha, a moody figure who holds revenge above all else after he suffers a terrible wrong.
