When homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis sees a photo of Seth Benjamin on a police bulletin, she knows that Heaven's plan to halt Armageddon has gone terribly wrong. As the only mortal who knows of Seth's true nature, only she can save him. Aramael was a hunter of Fallen Angels until a traitor forced him into earthly exile. Now, with no powers and only a faint memory of Alex, his mortal soulmate, he will stop at nothing to redeem himself-even if it means destroying Seth in the name of the Creator...
Review:
Linda Poitevin did it again in
the second installment of The Grigori Legacy, Sins of the Son. Picking up right where Sins of the Angels leaves readers, Linda Poitevin doesn’t hold back
one bit and readers are pushed right onto the thrill ride of their lives! Sins of the Angels really set my
expectations high, and Sins of the Son just brought that bar even higher. I can honestly say that The Grigori
Legacy is one of my top favorite urban fantasy series hands down. Better yet,
it is written by a Canadian author, Linda Poitevin definitely gets some brownie points
for that!
Now I won't be getting into the actual summary of the plot as there would be too many spoilers for the first installment as well as for Sins of the Son. What I can say is that the storyline has evolved, moving away from mysteries and crime scenes, and has entered into a new exciting world!
My favorite element of Sins of the Son was that the secondary
characters within the first installment played key roles and became aligned
with the main characters. Among those characters are the One and Lucifer
himself. Linda Poitevin reveals an unsuspecting twist that involves the
relationship between these two characters. There were also a few new characters
that entered the series and took center stage such as the Archangel Michael aka
Mika’el. I particularly enjoyed Linda’s retelling of Michael’s story and what the
true reasons for his departure from Heaven were.
Sins of the Son becomes much steamier than the first installment
when the forbidden love element extends into a full-fledged love triangle
between Alexandra, Aramael, and Seth. As one can imagine, Alexandra must select
one of these handsome archangels; however, she must keep in mind that her
decision can lead to Armageddon as Seth holds the key to both the salvation and
destruction of the entire human race.
Just as Linda Poitevin did with
the first installment, Sins of the Son
keeps readers sitting at the edge of their seat and pulling their hair right
until the very end. Just after the plot hits its climax, readers get slapped
with another blasted cliff-hanger ending! Linda Poitevin is a phenomenal writer and I really cannot wait to read the next
installment of The Grigori Legacy.
I recommend Sins of the Son to
anyone who enjoys Urban Fantasy reads. For those of you who have not yet picked
up the first two installments of The Grigori Legacy, put everything down and
read them NOW!!!
Must Read! Highly Recommended!
