Bethany and Xavier are even closer since battling Jake Thorn and his evil influence (in Halo) and Beth and her angel siblings must still protect Venus Cove from the Dark Forces.

When a party game – a séance – inadvertently releases Jake from the Underworld, he disguises himself and tricks Beth into taking a ride on his motorcycle. When the highway opens up and swallows them, Beth learns too late that she’s now a prisoner in hell. What happens to angels there? As her archangel brother, Gabriel, her sister Ivy, Xavier, and her best friend, Molly search for her, Beth must weigh Jake’s bargaining for her freedom: one night with him, and she will be released back to Earth.
Can Jake be trusted in this wager? And is he also using Beth to engineer the fall of the archangel Gabriel? Xavier has already lost one love – when Jake tricks him into thinking that Bethany is dead, his grief and anger result in a betrayal that will leave Bethany – and readers – wondering if he is so good after all.

It will be up to Beth to use everything she’s learned about her powers as an angel – and about love – to free herself and those she loves from the clutches of Hades.

  More About Hades:

"Heaven Help Her.
Bethany Church is an angel sent to Earth to keep dark forces at bay. Falling in love was never part of her mission, but the bond between Beth and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier Woods, is undeniably strong. But even Xavier?s love, and the care of her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can?t keep Beth from being tricked into a motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, the demon Jake Thorn bargains for Beth?s release back to Earth. But what he asks of her will destroy her, and quite possibly, her loved ones, as well."

The story that Alexandra Adornetto built in her bestselling debut, Halo, comes alive in action-packed and unexpected ways, as angels battle demons, and the power of love is put to the test.

Author Guest Post With Steven Craig Odanovich

Craig Odanovich has kindly agreed to guest post here and share his inspiration for becoming a writer in honor of his novels Black Widow Trainer and Captured Prey.

 About The Author:

Steven Craig Odanovich grew up in Flour Bluff, Texas, only minutes from the beaches of Padre Island. His creative roots are firmly grounded in the muscle car culture of the seventies. As a young music business entrepreneur, Odanovich launched a successful record store at a time when neighborhood record stores were still a prime point of connection between popular music and the public. His genuine affinity for the music and the fans helped Craig's Record Factory build huge customer loyalty, keeping regional and national competition at bay.

Rising to the executive level in the video and home entertainment division of H-E-B, a regional grocery and retail chain, Odanovich led growth for the company in an emerging market space. Later, applying his leadership abilities and insight to other highly competitive business arenas, he built value and increased market share for each of the companies he subsequently served, both in executive posts and as a key consultant.

Through his many stages of career evolution, Odanovich has maintained a constant interest in popular music and film. Three decades of avidly collecting music and seeing movies has provided a wellspring of inspiration for the author. Odanovich currently pursues his writing career in San Antonio, Texas. He and his wife Cathie have four children (Source).

 Guest Post:

Has anyone noticed the relationship between physical fitness trainers and their clients? How empowering it must be for a sexy female trainer to motivate a man to follow her direction and trust she can make him a better man, physically, if not a better person. It really is an interesting dynamic. The idea for The Black Widow Trainer series came to me in a flash, and then bounced around my cranium until my head became so full it began seeping out onto the written page. (Okay, I used a computer).

Once I began writing, most people I knew were considerate in their comments, but I could tell what they were thinking. Craig has never written before, what makes him think he can be a writer? I was not upset because I would have been thinking the same thing. What people didn’t realize was, as a businessman who has done nothing but build new businesses from scratch since the age of 20, I looked at this endeavor no differently than my business projects. I pictured myself producing a novel, not just writing one.

Here’s how I looked at it: What good would it do me to have a doctorate in mechanical writing if I couldn’t create (weave in this case :) a good plot. I would rather be a great story teller and then hire one of tens of thousands of editors to work on the sentence structure. I’m not sure readers understand how significant a role editors play. I think we would all be surprised to find out exactly how much of a successful writer’s work is improved by quality editing.

So, to sum it up, I was not a writer when I began, but I very much consider myself a writer now. I’m currently putting the finishing touches on the third book and will switch my attention to the recently completed screenplay of TBWT. We are shopping it around Hollywood now. I’m not sure whether it will be picked up as a movie or a cable series yet. It often gets compared to a female version of Californication. Time will tell.

Having the time of my life!

 On My Wishlist:

Sweet Venom (Medusa Girls: Book 1) by Tera Lynn Childs

Grace just moved to San Francisco and is excited to start over at a new school. The change is full of fresh possibilities, but it’s also a tiny bit scary. It gets scarier when a minotaur walks in the door. And even more shocking when a girl who looks just like her shows up to fight the monster.
Gretchen is tired of monsters pulling her out into the wee hours, especially on a school night, but what can she do? Sending the minotaur back to his bleak home is just another notch on her combat belt. She never expected to run into this girl who could be her double, though.
Greer has her life pretty well put together, thank you very much. But that all tilts sideways when two girls who look eerily like her appear on her doorstep and claim they’re triplets, supernatural descendants of some hideous creature from Greek myth, destined to spend their lives hunting monsters.
These three teenage descendants of Medusa, the once-beautiful Gorgon maligned in myth, must reunite and embrace their fates in this unique paranormal world where monsters lurk in plain sight.

(Guest Review) Prelude to a Hero by Jaime Buckley

Title: Prelude to a Hero
Author: Jaime Buckley
Publisher: On The Fly Publications
Format: ebook
Publication Date: May 27, 2011
Overall: 4/5
Source: From author for review.
Wendell is a young man who learns what his potential is while on a strange, enchanted world with a funny old wizard and ugly troll to mentor and guide him. Prelude to a Hero, the debut book about how Wendell came to be the one expected to save an entire world. . . by accident.

 Pam's Review:

Great storyline, Jamie Buckley creates a beautiful world with wonderful descriptions. You actually feel like you are on the new planet and can see it clearly in your mind. The characters are so awesome. You have the storyteller who is very funny, Wendell the loser, High Elders the blue people from the new planet, Evan who is Wendell’s best friend, and Kyliene a girl on the new planet.

Wendell is a nerdy nobody who gets kidnapped to a new planet. He is told by the High Elder that he is a hero and must accept it. Wendell doesn’t think he has what it take to be a hero. He meets Kyliene on the new planet and they become great friends. She helps him see the new world through her eyes. The evil one appears and a disaster happens. Wendell now has to choice if he wants to be a hero or go back to earth.
Good story, I hadn't read any sci-fi fantasy books before but this one sucked me in. My favorite line was from the storyteller "Some will say this is nothing but a tale of fiction. Let them think as they will. After all...I can't fix stupid." I actually gasped once while reading this book.

I recommend this novel to anyone who likes fantasy or sci-fi.

(Guest Review) Wild Child by Mike Wells

Title: Wild Child
Author: Mike Wells
Publisher:
Format: ebook
Pages: 110
Publication Date: March 12, 2011
Overall: 4/5
Source: From author for review.
Briana Fox is the wildest girl in school. She and Kyle have been close for a long time...almost lovers. Kyle is afraid that if he pushes her, he'll have his heart broken and lose his best friend. When Briana discovers a mysterious "power drug" in a cave, two government agents are desperate to find the source and turn Briana into a human experiment. Will Kyle risk everything to protect his love?

 Jenny's Review:

This book mainly revolves around the 2 main characters, Briana and Kyle. Briana is very much a typical “wild child” and wants to get Kyle to continue to be involved in her antics, although Kyle feels he has grown up. Briana finds a “drug” after one of her antics, this causes all sorts of problems involving being made into a human experiment, and how everything turns out between the 2 main characters.
I found this book easy to read, and loved getting involved with the main characters. I was intrigued to find out where the story was going and what trouble they were going to get into next. I loved the subtle undertones that were within this short story and the relationships between all the characters.
I loved the undertones between Briana and Kyle the most, and found the relationship between the two of them endearing.
I have given this book a 4/5 due to the ease of reading the story line and the likeability of the main characters. People with only a small amount of time that enjoy reading, or younger readers into fiction with a difference, will enjoy this short story.
4/5

(Guest Review) Happy Birthday To Me by Brian Rowe

Title: Happy Birthday To Me
Author: Brian Rowe
Publisher:
Format: ebook
Publication Date: April 5, 2011
Overall: 4/5
Source: From author for review.
Seventeen-year-old Cameron Martin has a huge problem: he’s aging a whole year of his life with each passing day!

High school is hard enough; imagine rapidly aging from seventeen to seventy in a matter of weeks, with no logical explanation, and with prom, graduation, and the state championship basketball game all on the horizon. That’s what happens to Cameron, a popular pretty boy who's never had to face a day looking anything but perfect.

All Cameron wants to do is go back to normal, but no one, not even the best doctors, can diagnose his condition. When he finds love with a mysterious young woman, however, he realizes his only hope for survival might be with the one person who started his condition in the first place...

 Pam's Review:

I enjoyed this book very much. The author did a great job with the characters. Some of them you will like some you will hate. Anybody who has gone to high school can pick someone they know to fit the profile of each character. Some of the characters names are very original like Charisma and Liesal. My favorite is Cameron's best friend Wesley Craven. I know that’s not original, however, I love the fact that he hates his name but wants to be a director just like Wes Craven.
The plot is super great and one I had not heard of before. Cameron is a perfect seventeen year old boy who has it all. The pretty girlfriend who everyone wants, great family, and is star of the basketball team. In the beginning Cameron seems like a jerk who only thinks of his self. After pulling one too many tricks he wakes one morning to find he is getting older every day by a year.

What I liked most about this book is that we get to see Cameron go from being self-centered to being a good guy who learns what the important things in life really are. He has a lot of hard choices to make, the hardest one being staying in school or going to a hospital.

When he choices to stay in school I found myself cheering him on as he faces kids who make fun of him, an awful girlfriend and a crazy librarian. He also finds out who his true friends are and makes a new one in Liesal. Liesal is someone he has always looked over. She helps him adjust to his new life but there is more to her than anybody knows.

I recommend this book to everyone as it has it all. You can't go wrong with a book like this. An original plot, great characters, and very well written.

4/5

(Guest Review) Drowning In the Dark by Allison Karras

Title: Drowning In the Dark
Author: Allison Karras
Publisher: You Come Too Publishing
Format: ebook
Publication Date: February 11, 2011
Overall: 4/5
Source: From author for review.
There’s a demon walking the streets of Freeport. And only teenager Samantha Carver can stop it.

It’s hard to outrun your past. But that’s what Sam thought she could do. After moving to a sleepy town on the
Oregon coast to live with relatives, she thought she was safe. She thought she could be someone different. She thought she could be a normal teenage girl.

However, the quiet coastal town of
Freeport is no refuge. After a girl at the high school is brutally murdered, the police believe Samantha’s cousin and best friend, Terry, is responsible.

But Samantha knows what her friends, teachers, and the police don’t. The murderer isn’t human. Samantha has seen this before. Too many times. She has witnessed the dead rise from their graves and does unspeakable things. She carries the scars on her skin and the sorrow in her soul to prove it.

The evil that she thought she had left behind in the rotting graveyards of her past is still stalking her.

Will Samantha be able to save Terry,
Freeport, and herself from the malevolent power that threatens to rip her world apart? Or will she succumb under a surging tide of evil and drown in the growing darkness that surrounds her?

In the tradition of Amanda Hocking and Charlaine Harris comes a paranormal romantic thriller with more chills than a cold and windblown night on the
Oregon coast.

 Jenny's Review:

This is an e-book about Samantha, who whilst growing up has witnessed dead bodies rising with evil spirits possessing them. This book follows Samantha through her time living with her relatives since loosing her parents, and her fight with the evil spirits catching up with her at her every turn.
I found this book a good short story read, it carries you along with what is happening to Samantha, her worries for her family and friends as well delving into the spirit world, with regards to the rising of the newly dead. I found it a compelling read and wanted to know how Samantha was going to deal with all the “problems” that appear to follow her around. I hope that there will be a next installment of Samantha’s adventures and cant wait to see where that will take her, her family and friends (new and old).
I enjoyed the plot line of this book, wanting to know what was going to happen next and how Samantha was going to deal with it.
Overall I would give this e-book a 4/5 as a short story. I’m sure people with an interest in “zombies”, and have limited time to read will find appealing and captivating.

 Guest Post:

These days, it's truly an exciting time to be a writer, and I'm enjoying writing as much as I do and then seeing it published.

There are so many reasons why I enjoy writing. At first it was only a hobby and something I decided to do suddenly in November 2009, and now I have found myself developing further with the plots and characters that I create.

Every day is a massive learning curve, reading reviews and hearing readers thoughts and feelings teaches me many different aspects that |I could incorporate into my writing, and for this I am grateful.

As well as the reasons to fulfill my enjoyment of writing, its my greatest pleasure when I see my name on the back of a printed version, and for those who have joined the technology changes and have an e-reader, to be able to have my name on the e-versions is just as fulfilling as the print version.

I’m writing more than I have ever written before, Golden Horizons is at the editors as we speak, this is the 3rd and much anticipated sequel to Nessy’s story (Moon Rising series), Volcan Knights has recently been published and so has a collaboration story titled Fangs Inc.

Writing Volcan Knights has been exciting, providing a much needed different perspective to my writing career and steering away from the Vampire theme that my writing is popularly known by. They are a species all themselves, much research went into the story with the times and places, and much of my imagination as well, how else did I create a magnificent paranormal species?

Writing Golden Horizons was so much fun, finalising Nessy’s feelings and her inner thoughts has brought the storyline to a different level that I hadn’t originally anticipated, but I am immensely pleased and I hope readers will be too!

I'm a huge fan of romance stories, and anyone who's read my works can testify to say that I incorporate romance into my stories in an interlude that’s lasting between the characters.

But all along, I've wanted to try my hand at other things as well, so I've written horror, fantasy and dark suspense which can be read later on in the year with the first called Hervidor, and so many more waiting to be edited before they are published.

My writing career has been a continued drive forwards, and if anyone told me in 2009 that I would create 25 stories by 2011, with 10 others waiting to be edited I would have said they were exaggerating just a tiny bit, but I have accomplished this and I am sincerely pleased with the progression of series that I have written.
What it all comes down to is that I love books! No matter what form they take. I love to read as much as I do to write.

I live and breathe stories, and whether you choose to read in print, on your phone, computer then I’m happy!

 Books by Laurie Bowler:

Marinette (Nessy) is half vampire and half human flees her maker Hervidor, the strongest of their kind and the ruler of the underworld of vampires. As Nessy flees to be able to live her life as she chooses, her vengeance for the coven Hervidor created, The Tellis coven rises to the surface as she ventures into unknown parts of life that she has never seen or experienced. Hervidor has kept Nessy locked away for centuries, his taunting and those tauntings of his coven have made Nessy stronger and one day capable of fleeing his grasp. As she runs through the unknown woods with her thirst on high alert she meets Charles and his coven, their ways and teachings of the new world that Nessy hasn’t seen before are shocking and exciting to Nessy who quickly learns to adjust and adapt so she can easily walk among humans during both day and night. Nessy quickly falls in love with Charles and they seal the bond that will capture and seal them together for eternity, their love being sealed and both of them finding their mate to walk the earth for as long as either one of them shall survive the passage of time and the changes it brings. With the threat of Hervidor constantly at their heels and Nessy trying to run and making that final decision to stand and face him in the fight that will decide her fate, the Gulon and their own pack of cats become involved Heracio (Hera) is Nessy’s biological cousin and decides to impart to Nessy the many family traits she wasn’t aware off as a human, her own self discovery becomes apparent as she too transforms into the Gulon creature. As the biggest and strongest of the Gulon and long ago destined to become their leader, Nessy hands over the reins of the leadership back to Hera, claiming the ownership is his by mutual right, mutual consent and adoration of his pack. As Nessy tries to come to terms with the changes happening to her and around her, she continues to slide on the path of love, together Charles, his coven and Nessy make the final stand against Hervidor and the detested Tellis coven to banish them from the earth but will they succeed in banishing Hervidor and his coven?

Moon Rising (Book 2)

Nessy wakes from her unconscious state to find she can no longer remember who she is or her purpose in life. Charles battles to try and tell her as much information as he can about her former life, and eventually submits to telling Nessy her true immortal state.
Hera takes Nessy back to the past in the form of the Gulon, where she meets the other Gulon packs who have come to aid them while the covens have gathered hoping to glimpse their new queen and ruler of the underworld, little does Nessy realise that person is her!
The continuing threat from the detested sinister Tellis coven fight back with the remaining members and they join forces with another coven that have long since been known for their massacres and barbaric ways for feeding.
Nessy has to battle to protect the human race from extinction and to protect her title for the good of races, the immortal race and the mortals that surround her, with Charles and the Gulon they must succeed.

Moon Rising (Book 3)

Nessy’s spiritual sojourn continues as the good and the bad, the animal and the human clash - one side vying for supremacy over the other. Nessy’s will power and bravery win as she stands and chooses the right path.
With Charles, the Eaves coven, and the Gulons working and fighting alongside Nessy to discover the mystery surrounding the strange happenings around them in their quiet village, together they must stand and face the evil force to maintain the balance of their world.
The Gulons bring forth their own heritage and legends changing the direction they’ve been ruling and protecting the humans, bringing Nessy back into their safe harness and their co-existence with the vampire race.
